Air Fryer Chicken Rissoles

🥘 Ingredients

For the Chicken Rissoles Mixture

  • 500g ground chicken mince (lean chicken mince)
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional but adds flavor)
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives or green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil (to brush before air frying)

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella for cheesy chicken rissoles
  • 1 tsp chili flakes for spicy chicken rissoles

🔥 How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Rissoles

1. Prepare the Chicken Rissoles Mixture

In a large mixing bowl combine:

  • ground chicken mince
  • onion
  • garlic
  • egg
  • breadcrumbs
  • Parmesan
  • carrot
  • parsley
  • chives
  • all seasonings

Mix well with your hands until fully combined and sticky.


2. Shape the Rissoles

  • Scoop portions of the mixture and form round rissoles or patties, about 2–3 inches wide.
  • Place them on a plate or tray.
  • Lightly brush each rissole with olive oil to help crisping in the air fryer.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Set air fryer to 190°C (375°F) for 3 minutes.

4. Air Fry the Chicken Rissoles

  • Arrange the rissoles in one single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry at 190°C (375°F) for 10 minutes.
  • Flip the rissoles.
  • Air fry for another 6–8 minutes or until:
    • golden brown
    • crispy on the outside
    • internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F)

5. Serve

Serve hot with:

  • garlic yogurt dipping sauce
  • sweet chili sauce
  • mashed potatoes
  • air fryer vegetables
  • salad bowls

🍽️ Storage & Meal Prep

  • Refrigerate: Up to 4 days, airtight container.
  • Freeze: Up to 3 months, separate with baking paper.
  • Reheat: Air fryer at 180°C / 360°F for 5–6 minutes.
