Creamy Baked Chicken Roll

For the Chicken Roll-Ups

  • 4 large chicken breasts, thinly sliced lengthwise (8–10 pieces total)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Creamy Filling

  • 200 g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp spring onion, chopped
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

For the Creamy Cheese Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)

For Topping

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

1. Prepare the Chicken

  1. Lay the sliced chicken breasts on a board.
  2. Season both sides with:
    • salt
    • pepper
    • paprika
    • garlic powder
    • onion powder
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and set aside.

2. Make the Filling

  1. In a bowl, mix together:
    • cream cheese
    • mozzarella
    • cheddar
    • parsley
    • spring onion
    • salt
    • garlic powder
  2. Mix until creamy and fully combined.

3. Roll the Chicken

  1. Place a spoonful of the creamy filling on each chicken slice.
  2. Roll tightly from one end to the other.
  3. Place seam-side down into a greased baking dish.

4. Prepare the Creamy Cheese Sauce

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
  3. Slowly add milk and heavy cream while whisking.
  4. Add:
    • mozzarella
    • parmesan
    • salt
    • pepper
    • nutmeg (optional)
  5. Simmer until thick and smooth.

5. Assemble the Dish

  1. Pour the creamy cheese sauce evenly over the chicken roll-ups.
  2. Sprinkle mozzarella on top.

6. Bake

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for 30–40 minutes,
    or until the chicken is fully cooked and the top is golden and bubbly.

7. Garnish & Serve

  • Top with fresh parsley.
  • Serve hot with:
    • mashed potatoes
    • pasta
    • rice
    • crusty bread
