Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak with Garlic Herb Gravy

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

1/2 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 packet dry onion soup mix

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup

1 packet dry au jus mix

1 cup water

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Directions

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian seasoned bread crumbs, milk, dry onion soup mix, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined and form into 6 patties.

Dredge each patty in flour, shaking off any excess.

In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Brown the patties on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Place the browned patties in the bottom of a slow cooker.

In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, dry au jus mix, water, dried thyme, and dried rosemary.

Pour the herb-infused gravy mixture over the patties in the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the patties are tender and cooked through.

Serve the Salisbury steak with the garlic herb gravy spooned over the top.

Variations & Tips

For a lighter version, you can use ground turkey instead of beef. If you have mushroom lovers in the family, add a cup of sliced mushrooms to the slow cooker for extra flavor. For those who prefer a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the gravy mixture. If you have gluten sensitivities, use gluten-free bread crumbs and flour. This dish is versatile and can be adjusted to suit various dietary needs and preferences.
