INGREDIENTS
For the Rich Meat Sauce (Ragù)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 750 g ground beef (or beef + pork mix)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 can (400 g) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
For the Creamy Béchamel Sauce
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp flour
- 4 cups milk, warmed
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp white pepper
- ½ tsp nutmeg (optional but classic)
For the Cheese Layer
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 ½ cups shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese (optional but delicious)
For the Pasta Layers
- 12–15 lasagna sheets
(oven-ready OR boiled for 8 minutes if needed)
🔥 FULL INSTRUCTIONS
✅ 1. Make the Rich Meat Sauce
- Heat olive oil in a large pan.
- Add onion → sauté 3 minutes.
- Add garlic → cook 1 minute.
- Add ground beef → cook until browned.
- Season with:
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- Italian seasoning
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and sugar.
- Stir, cover, and simmer 20–30 minutes until thick and rich.
- Add parsley and set aside.
✅ 2. Make the Creamy Béchamel Sauce
- Melt butter in a pot.
- Whisk in flour → cook 1 minute.
- Slowly add warm milk while whisking.
- Cook until thick and silky.
- Season with:
- salt
- white pepper
- nutmeg
- Remove from heat.
✅ 3. Prepare Cheese Mix
In a bowl, combine:
- mozzarella
- parmesan
- ricotta (optional)
Mix and set aside.

Grease your baking dish.
Layer Order (from bottom to top):
- Thin layer of meat sauce
- Lasagna sheets
- Meat sauce
- Béchamel sauce
- Cheese mix
👉 Repeat 3–4 times
Finish with:
- béchamel
- mozzarella
- parmesan
This gives the thick layered look you see in the picture.
✅ 5. Bake
- Preheat oven → 190°C / 375°F
- Cover with foil → bake 30 minutes
- Remove foil → bake 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly
Let it rest 10–15 minutes before slicing (very important!).
🍽️ SERVE
- Garnish with parsley
- Slice thick like the picture
- Serve hot with garlic bread or salad
